Owning It

The story goes like this: an organization comes and drills a well in a community. The organization puts a hand pump on the well and a plaque noting what generous individual gave thousands of dollars for the well’s parts and labor. There is a celebration because people in that community have something they’ve never had…

An Opportunity You Can’t Refuse

Rewind. Go back to my college dorm room 20+ years ago. The just read book “A Walk Across America” by Peter Jenkins sits on the floor by the torn up chair I used to study in. I was inspired. I was restless. I was still in college. I was stubborn. The call home went something…

Stories From The Road – Training in AZ

On our training ride in Arizona a few weeks ago, we were accompanied by our good friend and SAG wagon captain, Tony. While we rode, Tony drove a few miles behind us to take pictures and ensure we didn’t injure ourselves too badly (aside from the spill that Brian took, by the way, we did…

The second was an opportunity to travel to Phoenix, AZ to get in some training rides and share the story of Wheels4Water. So,…

Riding In Style…Thanks, Pactimo!

In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve been posting images of some pretty awesome cycling kits over the last few weeks. These kits are going to be used everyday of the ride from Boston to Chicago to show off some of our Sponsors, protect us from the elements, and hopefully make us look cool while we’re…

Thank You To O’Neil Printing!

Today we want to say a special “Thank You!” to our friends at O’Neil Printing! Because of their generosity and printing expertise, Wheels4Water has been able to create a lot of fun materials to accompany and promote the ride–plus quite a bit more. We feel so lucky to call them our Wheels4Water partners and friends! (We…

How Do You Get Water?

Sometimes getting water is as easy as walking five feet to a faucet and filling your cup. But sometimes it requires walking or biking four miles and carrying over 40 lbs of water. While we were in Uganda this past summer, we had an opportunity to see how much effort goes into getting clean water.
