Featured Rider: Matt Adams
We’re incredibly excited to welcome people from all walks of life join us for the 2016 Wheels4Water rides. In the weeks leading up to the rides, we’re going to share the stories of a few of these riders who are making safe water a reality for people in Uganda.
This week, we’re excited to hear from Matt Adams, a rider on Team Arizona.
How long have you been riding?
I have been a pretty avid cyclist most my life. I grew up riding mountain bikes in central Colorado. I started road biking 8 years ago as a method of training for mountain biking, but eventually embraced my inner roadie. These days I ride a few hundred miles a month, and really enjoy long distance riding.
Why did you decide to get involved with Wheels4Water this year?
Since the first year that Justin and Brian rode from Boston to Chicago I wanted to be involved. Last years CA ride was hot on my list, but it didn’t work out with my schedule. So I’m pretty stoked to ride in AZ this year. Beyond being passionate about riding, I’m excited about the work Lifewater is doing. I have been involved with Lifewater as a supporter for a few years now, and their work with water sanitation is critical to sustaining life. Simply something we don’t even think about here in our modern day first world countries.
What are you most excited about for the ride in Arizona?
I’m excited to have so many riders already involved, the amazing sponsors who stepped up to make the project happen, and I love riding here.
